Dental Implants
Restoring your smile
Restore your smile with implants designed to blend in with your natural teeth, and with proper care and good oral hygiene implants can last many years or even a lifetime.
A dental implant consists of a metal, screwlike post that acts like a root of a tooth and it holds a prosthetic crown or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost one or more teeth due to gum disease, an injury, or some other reason and who prefer not to wear dentures.
Benefits of Dental Implant Systems:

Emilia was extremely kind and thoughtful when coming to dealing with my teeth, I was extremely scared but she put me at ease and made me feel at home, I would always recommend Emilia!
How dental implant surgery is performed depends on the type of implant and the condition of your jawbone. Dental implant surgery may involve several procedures. The major benefit of implants is solid support for your new teeth — a process that requires the bone to heal tightly around the implant. Because this bone healing requires time, the process can take months.
Treatment process at Smiles on Harrogate Road
Here at Smiles on Harrogate Road, our in-house implantologist performs the initial implant surgery and, once healed, secures the custom crown directly onto the implant.
First our Implantologist will assess the area and carry out a scan (as shown in the photo)
Implantologist will record both arches (upper and lower teeth) including the occlusion (patient bite) and then specifically the implant area. This information is needed for the dental lab to produce a crown that fits perfectly.
The shade will also be discussed as well as pre-photos taken of the area
After that approx 2-3 weeks later and local anaesthetic may need to be used for tightening the crown into the implant. Radiographs will be taken to check that the crown is seated correctly. The occlusion (bite) will be checked and slight adjustment may be needed.
